Civil service should be made transparent, effective:Chhetri

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri has said that civil service should be made transparent and effective as it is directly linked with the daily life of the people.



Inaugurating the 30th anniversary of the Nepal Administrative Staff College, Chhetri said public-oriented administration should be guaranteed by developing capacity by using available resources as far as possible and expressed the commitment that the NPC will provide possible support for the administrative reform.[break]



Similarly, Chief Secretary, Lilamani Paudel, said that there is a need of humanitarian thinking and activeness and not only resources to make the Staff College efficient, timely and competitive.



Paudel said the government is committed for the promotion, development and reform of the Staff College.



Stating that billions of rupees have been spent in the name of employees´ training but the achievement is nil, he said the government has made a plan to provide quality training to employees in the country.



Founder Executive Director of the Staff College, Gorakshya Bahadur Nhuchchhe Pradhan pointed out the need of taking the Staff College ahead by making it efficient and competitive after making timely changes on it.



Mentioning that they have been taking the Staff College ahead by making it timely as per the available resources and capacity, Executive Director of the Staff College, Punya Prasad Neupane said the Staff College has been involved in making a network of all government training centers of the country.



On the occasion, the Staff College gave away prizes to the winners of different competitions and blood donors.
