Civil servants submit memo to Chairman Regmi

KATHMANDU, March 21: Different four organizations of civil servants on Thursday submitted a nine-point memorandum to Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi urging him to make the civil service more professional, accountable and transparent.



Receiving the memorandum, Chairman Regmi said he was positive to fulfilling the just demands of the civil servants´ organizations. [break]



The Office-bearers of the Nepal Civil Service Employees Association, Nepal National Employees Organization, National Independent Employees´ Milan Kendra and Rastra Sewak Employees Organization had reached the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister to submit the memorandum to Chairman Regmi.



Chairman of Nepal Civil Service Employees´ Association Shovakhar Regmi said Chairman Regmi urged the civil servants to help develop environment conducive for elections, while also assuring them of meeting their demands as far as possible.



The demands include providing sufficient salary for leading a minimum livelihood, provision of grade equal to one day´s salary, upgrading of Civil Service Hospital and free treatment facilities to all employees, and provision of internal promotion in the third class non-gazetted posts, among others.
