KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepal Civil Service Employees´ Union (NCSEU) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Home Secretary Govinda Kusum, protesting against what it called ‘irregular transfers’ of employees within the ministry. The NCSEU has warned of protests if the ministry continued to transfer employees under the "influence of politics" instead of merit. At least 24 employees including two joint secretaries and five under secretaries were transferred to Ministry of General Administration with no specific job responsibilities after Secretary Kusum assumed the portfolio. The NCSEU has asked Secretary Kusum to reconsider the transfers. Those transferred outside the ministry recently include joint secretaries Mod Raj Dotel and Bishwa Prakash Pandit, and under secretaries Kabi Raj Khanal, Chandeshwar Acharya and Kashi Ram Marasaini.
