KATHMANDU, Sept 26: A secretary-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal has decided to suspend all civil servant transfers for one week starting Tuesday, aiming to make the process more transparent and systematic, following complaints about widespread irregularities in employee transfers.

Previously, on September 10, the Prime Minister’s Office had directed the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) to send a letter to ensure transparency and orderliness in the transfer process.

Based on that letter, the secretary-level meeting has mandated that within seven days, all ministries and departments must update and submit the details of civil servant positions and current staff to the MoFAGA. Additionally, it has been decided that ministries conducting service groups will not be allowed to transfer civil servants until their details are updated.

The meeting also decided that all employees working in approved organizational structures must be assigned specific responsibilities within seven days, ensuring that no employee remains without a designated role.

Furthermore, the meeting directed all ministries to provide immediate relief to transferred civil servants.
