KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Badri Pandey, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has indicated to remove Pradeep Adhikari, the director general (DG) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
At the meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives held on Thursday, Pandey indicated the removal of Adhikari. He said, “A question of morality lies in personal matters. If my decision is not implemented, I cannot continue in this position. The country will know about this soon.”

Adhikari was appointed as the director general of CAAN in February, 2022. He still has one and a half years of his tenure left.
In the meeting, some members of parliament (MPs) demanded that DG Adhikari should be suspended, while others sought the resignation of both Adhikari and Pandey.
Stating that the position was nothing for him but if he resigned based on morals, it could be perceived as trying to gain cheap popularity, Pandey said that he was confused on this matter.
