KATHMANDU, April 19: Former Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale, has described Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), as the most corrupt and irresponsible figure in the country's aviation history.
In a social media post, Ale accused Adhikari of committing serious irregularities and misconduct, and alleged that certain parties are deliberately trying to divert public attention from these issues.

"Following the investigation by the Pokhara Regional International Airport Study and Monitoring Subcommittee under the Federal Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, various media outlets have tried to shift focus away from Adhikari's misconduct," Ale wrote. "He is possibly the most corrupt and irresponsible figure in Nepal's aviation history."
Ale criticized the media for manipulating a sensitive matter and said their actions amount to direct interference in the parliamentary process and the public's right to information.
He urged all concerned parties to stop spreading confusion around the issue and called for a collective focus on holding individuals publicly accountable for corruption, abuse of authority, and actions that damage public trust.
Ale had appointed Adhikari as Director General of CAAN during his own tenure as minister.
