KATHMANDU, March 16: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has raided Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCCB) and arrested some staffers for their alleged involvement in the past embezzlement scam.
CIB has arrested some bank staffers including loan officer to investigate the fraud scam taken place at various banks including Apex Development Bank that has undergone merger with NCC recenlty, CIB Chief DIGP Pushkar Karki told Republica Online.
Concluding that around Rs 2 billion was embezzled, Nepal Rastra Bank asked the Bureau to look into the case.
“This is an old case. We had asked CIB to investigate the case before Apex Development Bank underwent merger with the other banks. We have taken some staffers under control for investigation,” said he.
