BIRENDRANAGAR, Jan 26: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at a special court against four people including an accounting officer allegedly involved in embezzling money by using fake compensation in Panchapuri Municipality in Surkhet.

At the end of the last fiscal year, Accountant Man Bahadur Budha had embezzled the funds by making a fake payment with the signature of Romakanta Pandey, who serves as Chief Administrative Officer of Panchapuri Municipality in Surkhet.

After the investigation, the anti-graft body filed a case against Mohan Budha, who is an Accountant  Officer at the municipality, Bhavi Lal Ramjali, owner of New Ramjali Fresh Dhawa Tandoori Center and Hotel, and two officers Lal Bahadur Subedi and Tulsi KC at the municipality.

The CIAA has demanded to recover Rs 262,000 from them for embezzling the money by preparing fake hotel bills under various headings.

Ramjali, the owner of the hotel, was involved in making fake bills by giving a blank bill to the accountant officer. It is mentioned in the press note issued by the CIAA that the charge sheet was filed at the Special Court in Kathmandu because it was seen that he helped Accountant Budha to pay the money for the meeting of the experts’ group, the meeting of the examination committee and the meeting of the education committee.
