KATHMANDU, April 16: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against government officials including Bikal Paudel, director of Security Printing Center, at the Special Court on charges of corruption.
According to a statement issued by the CIAA on Sunday, the anti-graft body has filed a case on the charge of embezzlement of funds in course of the purchase of ‘Power System in Security Printing Press and Pressurized Fuel Storage Tank’.
CIAA to file corruption case against Bikal Paudel
Poudel has been accused of preparing fake statements and accepting more money than the actual cost for the purchase of security printing in addition to accepting substandard electric transformers against the contract.
Similarly, Poudel has been accused of causing damage to the government and misappropriation of government funds by paying more in advance for infrastructure operation and post-supply services without working as per the purchase agreement, and purchasing bulk fuel tank systems that are not needed and cannot be justified.
