CIAA files corruption case against 12 officials for allowing construction of hotel inside CNP

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority  (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against the officials of Chitwan National Park (CNP), Khairahani Municipality and various community forest user groups on the charge of allowing the construction of a hotel inside the CNP.

The CIAA has filed the case against the conservation officer of CNP, the chief administrative officer and engineer of Khairahani Municipality of Chitwan and officials of various community forest consumer committees.

They have been accused of misusing the budget and cutting wood to build concrete hotels and buildings in the forest area inside the CNP.
