KATHMANDU, Feb 9: A joint team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Thursday took stock of the under construction Hilton Hotel at Naxal near Nepal Police Headquarters in the Capital.
According to Rudra Singh Tamang, chief executive officer at the KMC, the files related to the under construction five-star hotel had been sent to the CIAA office two days ago after the anti-graft body asked for them.
The joint team from the CIAA and KMC officials jointly inspected the under construction Hilton Hotel at 11 am today.
A large sinkhole opened up in the public road at Naxal on January 8 as a stretch of the road caved in.
The locals have been complaining that a sinkhole developed along the road due to excessive digging for the construction of the five star hotel.
The five-star hotel is being constructed in the joint investment of Hilton Worldwide Company and Jagadamba Hospitality Group.
