CIAA concerned over encroachment of lakes

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The Commission for the Investigation and Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has expressed concern over the growing encroachments of lakes located in Pokhara and its suburbs causing serious threat to their existence.



The CIAA formed a five-member team led by CIAA´s joint secretary Krishna Prasad Dhungana to find out the current situation of lakes and making recommendations for taking necessary steps to solve the pertaining problems after a field visit, reads a press statement issued by the CIAA on Friday. [break]



The five-member team will prepare a report about the real situation of the lakes located in Pokhara and its suburbs after holding talks with district level officers and local stakeholders.. The constitutional body has also opened its facebook page effective from Friday.
