Christmas Cake Mixing event concluded at Hotel Shangri La

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The one-day Christmas Cake Mixing program concluded at the premises of Hotel Shangri La and Resort, Lazimpat on Sunday. The hotel organized the event at Shambala Garden to support Niten Memorial School and the pupils from that school.

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The one-day Christmas Cake Mixing program concluded at the premises of Hotel Shangri La and Resort, Lazimpat on Sunday. The hotel organized the event at Shambala Garden to support Niten Memorial School and the pupils from that school. 


Various people attended the cake mixing ceremony. Pupils from Niten Memorial School, beauty pageant holders, the runner up of the pageant amongst others attended the event.

Over 20 ingredients were placed at the table to be mixed. Explaining about the cake mixing, the hotel’s Executive Chef, Vikram Kumar said that the ceremony is widely famous all around the world in the Christian communities. He added, “Cake mixing is an old tradition in the Christian community. We have conducted this ceremony for charity. Not all people around the world do the same.”


Besides people meeting at the table for the cake mixing, the hotel granted cheque worth Rupees one hundred thousand to Niten Memorial School. The general manager of the hotel, Samir Banerjee handed a cheque to Nicole Thakuri-Wick, the founder of the school. Banerjee said that the hotel has done this event to provide a way to reconnect people aside from donating some amount to the school. “The festival itself is a symbol of joy. We are happy that we have done that right by donating some amount that would help for the education of the pupils of the school,” he added.
