Chinese envoy makes farewell call on Prez

KATHMANDU, April 5: Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Qiu Guohong paid a farewell call on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas on Tuesday.



On the occasion, President Dr Yadav thanked Guohong for his contribution to strengthening the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between Nepal and China during this term.[break]



Meanwhile, Guohong met with Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel at the parliamentary party´s office at Singha Durbar today.



During the meeting, Guohong inquired about Nepal´s political situation, ongoing peace process and the constitution drafting process. In response, Poudel said that discussions were underway among the parties to accelerate the stalled constitution making and peace process.



Guohong is returning home after completing his term on April 8.



Also today, Resident Representative of the United Nations in Nepal, Robert Piper met with NC leader Poudel and discussed matters relating to the latest political situation in Nepal.
