Chinese ambassador Chen visits ancient Kapilvastu

KAPILVASTU, April 11: Chinese Ambassador Chen Song visited Tilaurakot, an ancient Kapilvastu site. He came to ancient Kapilvastu from Lumbini and visited the Buddha place Tilaurakot.

Ambassador Chen was informed about the historical background, importance, historical evidence, etc. of the temple by the Vice President of Lumbini Development Trust, Bhikshu Mettey.  

He inspected the excavations and research completed in Tilaurakot by walking in Tilaurakot Durbar area. Excavations have been carried out at Tilaurakot for eight years with the support of the Japanese Fund and Trust, National Geographic Society America and UNESCO. He received information about the achievements and condition of the excavations. He was informed about the achievements of excavation and research, evidence obtained, historical background, etc.  

Ambassador Chen made an on-site inspection of the main palace, western and eastern corridors of Tilaurakot, and the area where excavation has been completed. While returning after the visit, Ambassador Chen said that he would take initiatives for the promotion and development of Tilaurakot. Responding to the media, he said that for the solid development of the shrine, it should be planned. Saying that he was blessed to be able to step on the birthplace of three Buddhas, he said that he would join hands for the development of the Buddha place in ancient Kapilvastu. "We are ready to help for the development of the Buddhist temple here," he said.

He said that millions of Buddhist pilgrims in his country are eager to come to the ancient Kapilvastu. He said that it is a matter of pride to come to the Buddhist temple, which is a pioneer of peace and the center of the million faith. He said that the Government of China is ready to support the development of the Buddhist temple. Tilaurakot is the palace of Buddha's father King Suddhodan.
