KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Ambassador of China to Nepal Chen Song on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Speaker of House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire. The Federal Parliament Secretariat said that the issues of bilateral friendly relations, exchange of parliamentary activities and other issues were discussed during the meeting at the Speaker's office at Singha Durbar.
Speaking on the occasion of the meeting, Speaker Ghimire expressed Nepal's strong commitment to the 'One China Policy' and praised China's support for health supplies and vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stating that the support from China in the post-earthquake reconstruction is also memorable, Speaker Ghimire expressed his belief that the borders of the two countries will be gradually opened.
Chinese Ambassador Song wished Speaker Ghimire a successful tenure. On the occasion, the Chinese ambassador handed over a message of greetings sent by Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, to Speaker Ghimire.
