KATHMANDU, Aug 3: India and China have congratulated Pushpa Kamal Dahal for being elected as the new prime minister of Nepal on Wednesday and wished him success for his new term.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned Dahal after the parliament elected him as the new prime minister and congratulated him before inviting him to visit India.
Following the telephone conversation, Modi tweeted, “Spoke to Nepal’s PM-elect Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ ji and congratulated him, Assured him of our full support and invited him to India.
” Similarly, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai visited Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat and congratulated Prime Minister-elect Dahal on behalf of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and the people of China.
