China envoy-designate Wu arrives

KATHMANDU, March 7: Chinese ambassador-designate to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, arrived in Kathmandu, Thursday, to take up his new diplomatic assignment. Wu replaces Yang Houlan, who left Nepal a few weeks ago.



According to spokesperson at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Arjun Bahadur Thapa, envoy-designate Wu is scheduled to present his credentials to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav amidst a special function to be held at Shital Niwas on Monday. [break]



Prior to this, Wu was serving as the deputy director of Department of External Security Affairs in Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Department is headed by former Chinese ambassador to Nepal Quo Guohong.



Along with Wu, Indonesia´s non-resident ambassador to Nepal Rizali W. Indrakesuma is also scheduled present his credential on the same day, according to Spokesperson Thapa.
