MORANG, Nov 16: A minor has been killed after he was hit by an overspeeding passenger bus in Pathari in Morang district on Tuesday morning.
Bivas Acharya, 7, of Belbari Municipality-4, was killed after a passenger bus hit him at Pathari Bazaar of Morang along the East-West Highway.
According to the Traffic Police, the bus (Province 3- 001 Kha 200) heading towards Kankadvitta of Jhapa from Kathmandu hit the minor at Patharishanischare Municipality-2 on Tuesday morning.

According to Morang Traffic Chief Inspector Chandra Bahadur Khadka, Acharya succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Pathari Hospital.
The minor was crossing the road with his mother, Bhavana Acharya, who is said to be safe in the accident.
Police have arrested the driver of the bus, Shambhu Thapa, 34, of Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality-6 of Bhojpur. According to police, the accident took place due to overspeeding.
