BAGLUNG, Nov 28: A six-month-old child has died of HIV/AIDS in Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital on Friday, taking the number of AIDS deaths in Baglung district to 10.

The hospital confirmed Chitra (name changed), born to infected parents, died of AIDS.

“HIV infected patients try to hide the infection and therefore, the number of actual deaths can be higher. Ten patients using medicines have died,” said Dr Tarun Poudel.

He said the fact that patients from rich families bring medicines from Pokhara, Kathmandu and Butwal also makes the act of monitoring of AIDS cases difficult.
