Chief Minister Shahi visits fire-hit village with relief materials

SURKHET, Dec 24: The Karnali Provincial government has started to offer relief materials to the fire survivor families in Kalikot district. 


Chief Minister of the Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and other officials reached the fire-hit area of Khadabasti village in Patala Rural Municipality-1 on Monday and distributed relief assistance to the affected families. The province government has provided Rs 20,000 in cash and foodstuffs as well as clothing to each family.

According to Secretary of Internal Affairs and Law Ministry of the Province Toyanarayan Subedi, seven people have sustained injuries while 50 houses were completed gutted in the fire that occurred on Sunday night. 


Chief Minister Shahi travelled via Nepal Army helicopter along with National Assembly Member Jiban Budha, House of Representative Member Durga Bahadur Rawat and Province Assembly Member Kurmaraj Shahi. 

Likewise, the survivors were also provided with rice, pulse, salt, edible oil and other materials from the federal government. 


Furthermore, the neighbouring Tilagupha Municipality, Raskot Municiaplity and Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality in Kalikot district have also decided to provide Rs 200,000 from the side of their local government.
