KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav today presented an annual report for the fiscal year of 2017/18 before President Bidya Devi Bhandari amid a program in President's Office in Sheetal Niwas.
The report presentation was in line with Article 294 (1) of the constitution of the country.
At the event, Chief Election Commissioner Yadav informed the President of the major works carried out and achievements made by the EC in the fiscal year of 2017/18.

The successful conclusion of elections of President and Vice President, members of the House of Representatives and State Assembly and National Assembly members and local level elections in State 2 are EC's achievements as stated in the report.
According to the EC, although 120 days is generally necessary for the arrangement of the election, the EC became successful to hold the local level election within 82 days.
It further said that 38,500 people's representatives were elected from the three-tiers of election which was possible from the support of all bodies concerned.
The report mentioned that governments of all three levels have come into operation and the country has moved ahead towards the path of prosperity as the federalism has come into full implementation.
Saying the report would be sent at the Parliament through the office of the Prime Minister, President Bhandari thanked the EC for concluding elections on time as per the constitution as the election is the basic pillar of democracy.
Election Commissioners- Ila Sharma, Narendra Dahal, Ishwori Prasad Poudyal, and Sudhir Kumar Shah, among others, were present on the occasion. RSS
