Change of guard should be dealt in package: Govt spokesperson

By
BIRATNAGAR, Aug 8: Information and Communications Minister Raj Kishor Yadav said on Wednesday that the current government is not an obstacle to the formation of consensus government to end the existing political crisis.

“But the political parties need to reach a meaningful and result-oriented agreement for the formation of consensus government, Yadav, also government spokesperson, told reporters in Biratnagar. [break]

“The country cannot get rid of the current imbroglio if the leadership of government is changed without finding its replacement first,” he said.

He laid emphasis on a package deal on the core content of new constitution and the way how the constitution is promulgated and the formation of a new government that would oversee new elections.

“We could not make a new constitution in the past four years as focus (of the parties) was always on power,” he said, adding, “There is no alternative to consensus among political parties to institutionalize the political changes.”
