KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Due to the influence of the low pressure system, there will be partial to normal rain and snowfall in some places of the country today.
There will be partial to normal rain in the mountainous areas of Province 1, and Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, with a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The weather will be generally clear in the rest of the places.
Some parts of the Tarai are likely to have fog in the morning. With the possibility of temperature decreasing gradually in most parts of the country, the Department has requested all to take necessary precautions to avoid cold.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
Tonight, there will be partial to normal rain in the hill areas of Province 1 and Bagmati and Gandaki provinces with the possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hill areas of the three provinces.
According to the latest update from the Weather Forecast Division, the minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley today is 7.7 degrees and the maximum is 19.2 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature today has been recorded at Jumla, which is -4.1 degrees while the maximum temperature is in Dharan, at 24.2 degrees Celsius
