IEC Chairman Regmi said there was the need of making election-friendly environment with the declaration of the CA election date and fulfillment of the needs for the election process. [break]
Speaking at the Diamond Jubilee and 61st founding day of Nepal Scout here today, Chairman Regmi, who is also the Patron of the Nepal Scout, called on one and all to succeed the election campaign as the ordinance regarding the CA election laws was already issued.
He further said it was all the people´s duty to succeed the election as the government has already declared the election date for November 19 and formed Constituency Delineation Commission to ensure rights of all the adults for voting.
He said, "I believe that with this all positive activities, the environment for election has been created and also there have been the enthusiasm among all the people. The CA election was the only democratic method for a progressive outlet and that the government has drawn its active attention in this regard."
IEC Chairman Regmi said the government has completed most of the tasks regarding the election process and urged all to create awareness on behalf of every citizen and spread the election education among the public.
Regmi called on legal practitioners, journalists, civil society leaders, and intellectuals, among others, to well inform the people about the election, and observe the whole election process.
IEC Chairman Regmi said building a good nation, preparing good citizens and transforming the society was possible through education and the principle of Nepal Scout that aimed for making a peaceful and harmonious society.
During the programme, Minister for Youth and Sports, Ram Kumar Shrestha, said the scout education could give guidelines for the transformation of society and that the Scout organizations should be extended and made them the means of providing practical education to youths.
Similarly, Chief Commissioner of the Nepal Scout, Shreeram Lamichhane, informed that the Nepal Scout organizations had been extended to 64 districts by incorporating as many as 50,000 boys, girls and youths. He added that it would take its services to all the 75 districts within the next two years.
