KATHMANDU, March 10: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the CPN-UML of converting into a right-wing force.

The party started its central working committee meeting on Wednesday where Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal presented the party’s political report.

In the report, it is stated that an agreement has been reached between the ruling coalition including CPN (Unifies Socialist), CPN (Maoist Center), Nepali Congress (NC), and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). Acknowledging the fact that the UML can only be defeated by moving ahead with the election together, all parties have decided to keep the coalition intact till elections, claims leader Nepal.

The party’s rank and file are also directed to focus on the upcoming election. “Our whole party should be focused on the election and make plans for it,” Chairman Nepal said.

On the occasion, Chairman Nepal also requested not to raise the issue of the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement, as the project has already been ratified through parliament with interpretive declaration.

Furthermore, Nepal stated that the country has not been able to move ahead as directed by the constitution and mentioned that the politics of the country is not in good shape.
