At a press meet in Kathmandu, Raman Shiwakoti, chief executive officer of SS Event Private Limited which is organizing the tournament, said the tournament would be played at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and feature 24 corporate houses. The tournament will last for five days."We have been organizing the event with the aim of bringing corporate houses together at the same platform," said Shiwakoti during the program.
Only the employees who are 25 years or above and have worked in the organization for at least six months would be eligible to participate in the tournament.
The 24 teams will be divided into eight groups, with each group comprising of three teams. Sixteen teams will enter into pre-quarterfinals after round robin match in group stage.
Each participating teams have to pay an entry fee of Rs 60,000, however, the winner of the last edition--Civil Bank will get free entry, according to Shiwakoti. The winner, runner-up, man-of-the-series, the best batsman, bowler and fielder will be awarded with gift hampers.
Century Bank, the title sponsor, has agreed to provide Rs 600,000 for organizing the tournament.
Meanwhile, Century Bank's Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jiwan Bhattarai informed that the bank is supporting the event as part of corporate social responsibilities and that the organization would give continuity to the event in future as well.
