Armed Police overtook Nepal Police with 32 gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze medals to finish second.
Nepal Police could only win 27 gold, 40 silver and 24 bronze medals in third place.
Nepal Army boycotted six major events like track and field, taekwondo, football, volleyball and badminton in the protest of National Sports Council’s decision to include Maoist’s affiliated PLA sports club after the opening ceremony, this hampered their medal’s tally and benefitted APF.
Central region showed its strength in open competition too, winning more than half of the medals alone. It captured 52 gold medals out of 94inthe fray. APF claimed second position however Police came third in the medals tally.
