The demonstration has been withdrawn after the top leaders of the special committee under the Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee agreed to form a separate province including five districts of Karnali and Surkhet, Dailekh, Jajarkot of Very and Rukum and half part of Salyan of Rapti zone on Friday.
The government had clamped curfew in the Karnali zone for four days during the movement.
As many as 13 protestors were injured in the police firing during the movement. The injured have been undergoing treatment at the hospitals in Kathmandu and Nepalgunj.
The denizens of Karnali have expressed happiness over the decision not to include the Karnali zone in the far-west region.
During the movement, means of transport including both the air and road had been shut down. The government and non-government offices, educational institutes had remained closed.
The government office buildings and party offices had suffered damages in the demonstration. The Karnali denizens who had come to participate in the demonstration have started to return to their villages.
The Karnali people had taken to the streets demanding a separate province including Karnali and Very zones with special rights.
The district-based political parties had led the movement. According to leaders even though the first phase of Karnali movement has ended, the movement to secure Karnail province with special rights will continue.
