KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Election Commission on Friday apprised the senior leaders of the 25 political parties representing the parliament on the internal preparations for upcoming elections.
Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav at a discussion held at the Commission informed the leaders of the preparations for the elections.
According to Commission's Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Yadav briefed the leaders on the constitutional provision on political parties, and the tasks to be undertaken by the political parties as part of the provision.
The program was attended by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam, CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party Vice Leader Subas Nembang, CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice Chairman Narayankaji Shrestha, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Pashupati Shumsher JBR, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar.
Similarly, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Republican) Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav, CPN (ML) Chairman Chandra Prakash Mainali, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Anil Kumar Jha, Akhanda Party Chairman Kumar Khadka, Nepal Janata Dal Chairman Hari Charan Shah among top leaders of 25 political parties took part in the discussion.
