In the first match of the day, CCRC beat Kantipur City College (KCC-B) by eight runs. Winning the toss CCRC chose to bat first and posted a modest score of 102 runs in their 20 overs, losing nine wickets. Even the likes of explosive batsmen like Gyanendra Malla(7) and Antim Thapa (11) could not up the scoring rate for CCRC. Pawan Das (27) was the pick of the batsmen for CCRC. The pick of the bowlers for CCI was Suraj Timilsina, who wreaked havoc on CCRC to claim 4 wickets conceding just 12 runs in 4 overs.
But KCC´s run chase was no steady ride either. KCC lost its first wicket when the team total was only seven. No. 7 Raju Tundan showed some resilience but was bowled when he was on 21 by Amrit Bhattrai. In the end, the modest target proved to be an uphill task for KCC and they were restricted to 94 for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted overs, falling short only by eight runs. Man of the match Sagar Khadka´s three wicket haul wrapped up the match in favor of CCRC.
In the second match, Classic College International (CCI) defeated Golden Gate Education Network (GGEN) by 10 runs. CCI won the toss and elected to bat. Dinesh Agri(25) was the highest run getter for CCI, and his runs included 2 fours and two sixes. Sunam Gautam, who bagged 4 wickets, was the most successful bowler for GGEN.
In reply, GGEN´s star studded batting lineup, featuring hard hitting batsmen like Prithu Baskota, Rom Shrestha and Paras Khadka, was restricted to 110 runs in the team´s allotted 20 overs. Man of the match Sunam Gautam(30) returned with the bat to get the highest runs for GGEN. But his effort could not win the match for his side. Pramod Basnet and Naresh Budhayer claimed 3 wickets each to complete the rout.
