“The government had recommended the names after holding extensive discussions with the political parties. I hope, the president approves the recommendations on time,” said Sapkota. The government had recommended Neel Kantha Uprety as the chief election commissioner, and Dolakh Bahadur Gurung, Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, Ila Sharma and Dr Rambhakta PB Thakur as commissioners.
“Elections can be held on time only if the president approves the recommendation at the earliest,” said Sapkota.
Informing that the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance led by party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal would have a common election manifesto, he also urged other parties to join the alliance.
