According to a press statement issued by Carter Center in Kathmandu, Carter will hold meetings with senior government officials, political leaders, and civil society representatives in support of the Carter Center’s long-term peace monitoring and reporting work while in Nepal.[break]
It is said he will also encourage progress toward holding the elections. Carter is scheduled to hold a press conference on April 1 before his departure to Myanmar.
The former US president will lead a Carter Center delegation to Myanmar, where the Center is exploring ways to support the country’s ongoing democratic transition.
