KATHMANDU, May 4: A father and daughter lost their lives after a car and a motorcycle collided this morning in Rautahat.
The accident took place in the western Lachama area of Chandrapur Municipality-4, Rautahat, along the East-West Highway. The car, traveling from west to east, collided with the motorcycle heading from east to west, resulting in the tragic death of the father and daughter.

The car (BA 6 Cha 3526), traveling from west to east, collided with a motorcycle (Na 3 Pa 9512) that was heading from Chandranigahpur to Nijgadh.
According to police, the crash resulted in the tragic deaths of the motorcycle rider, Bali Ram Sahani, 60, from Garuda Municipality-3, Rautahat District, and his daughter, Urmila Devi Sahani, 40.
After the accident, the Chandranigahpur Area Police Office detained the car driver, Kumar Pokhrel, 43, from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-12. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar Rai of the Chandranigahpur Police said that an investigation into the incident is underway, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the government hospital for post-mortem.
