Candidates required to submit expenses details of online advertisement

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Election Commission (EC) has urged the political parties and candidates to submit the details of expenditure made for online advertisement in social networking sites for the federal and provincial assembly elections.

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Election Commission (EC) has urged the political parties and candidates to submit the details of expenditure made for online advertisement in social networking sites for the federal and provincial assembly elections.


The EC’s appeal has come as the social networking sites are filled with election-related advertisements after the completion of the candidacy nomination of the candidates for the federal and provincial assembly polls to be held on November 20.

The EC made such an appeal by issuing the ‘Policy on Use of Social Sites on Election Management’.  


Issuing a statement on Monday, EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that continued monitoring and evaluation of online advertisement is ongoing by forming a mechanism at the EC Secretariat and offices of the EC.
