In Kathmandu, the officials at the returning office are receiving the nominations of the candidates at its office in New Baneshwor. Wrestler Himalayan Tiger filed his candidacy from Kathmandu-10 for the first time. He was first one to file the nomination.[break]
Ganesh Tamang, a rebel UCPN (Maoist) candidate, has filed his candidacy from Kathmandu-3 against the party’s official candidate Ganesh Regmi. Similarly, Suprabha Ghimire, who quit the NC on Wednesday, filed candidacy from Kathmandu-4 independently. Ghimire was elected in the last CA election.
In Rupandehi, UCPN (Maoist) leader Baburam Bhattarai filed his nomination from Rupandehi-4. After filing nomination from Rupandehi, he is on his way to Gorkha to file nomination from Gorkha-1.
In Jhapa, CPN-UML senior leader KP Oli has filed nomination from Constituency number 7. Oli reached to Chandargadhi to file the nomination. Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Keshav Kumar Budhathoki filed his candidacy from Jhapa-5.
In Rautahat, UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal field nomination of Rautahat-1. On the occasion, leader Nepal remarked that his candidacy is meant for peace and prosperity for the country.
In Chitwan, Surya Bahadur Praja has filed his candidacy from Chitwan-1 for as the first candidate to file the nomination.
In Morang, Madhesi People’s Rights Forum chief Upendra Yadav has filed his nomination from Morang-5. Likewise, NC leader Shekhar Koirala filed nomination from Morang-7. Likewise, Amod Prasad Upadhdhya, Mahesh Acharya and Barsa Man Pun have filed their nominations from Morang-1, 6 and 9 respectively.
In Dadeldhura, NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba also filed nomination from the district. He is also filing the nomination from Kailali-6. NC Vice President, Ram Chandra Poudel filed candidacy from Tanahu Constituency No. 2. The rebel candidate, Purna Bahadur Gurung, a Central Committee member of the Tarun Dal, has also filed candidacy from the same constituency.
NC president, Sushil Koirala has filed candidacy for Banke, Constituency Number 3.
As per the Election Commission (EC) calendar of events for the FPTP electoral system, the EC will publish the list of nominated candidates on Friday.
One can file complaints on October 5 against candidates nominated under FPTP and the commission will take decisions on such complaints on October 6.
Similarly, the EC will publish the lists of candidates on October 7 and a candidate can withdraw his or her candidacy the next day.
Likewise, the commission will publish the final list of candidates on October 9 and allocate election symbols on the 10th.
