CAN, Wai Wai sign sponsorship for U-16 cricket

KATHMANDU, April 16: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Wai Wai Instant Noodles, a product of CG Foods Nepal, on Friday signed a sponsorship agreement for Inter-school Girls´ National Cricket Tournament to be held in Nepalgunj from April 23.







As per the agreement, CG group will provide a cash support of Rs 300,000 and other equipments including trophies, certificates and sport dresses required for the tournament. The agreement will be valid for five years. The tournament will be named Wai Wai Inter-school U-16 T20 National Cricket Tournament. [break]



CAN President Binay Raj Pandey and general manager of CG Food Bishwas Rai signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.



The five-day tournament to be organized under the program of Ministry of Youth and Sports will feature 10 teams from across the nation.



Speaking on the occasion, CAN President Pandey said that the tournament was organized to develop cricket from the grassroots level.



Meanwhile, Mr Matthew and Wendy Napier, Canberra, Australia, handed over a bowling machine to CAN at the same function.
