CAN Vice President and Secretary resign

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Vice President Raju Babu Shrestha and Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel resigned from their posts on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Vice President Raju Babu Shrestha and Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel resigned from their posts on Wednesday.


Organizing a press conference on Wednesday, Secretary Pyakurel and Vice President Shrestha announced their resignations. Pyakurel, who has been managing Nepali cricket for a long time, has resigned as he was successful in setting up CAN and some other plans. "It was our campaign to groom the representatives and we succeeded to some extent. I had plans to resign after being completely relieved of the ICC suspension," Pyakurel said.

He was elected as the secretary by a panel led by Chatur Bahadur Chand in September 2076 BS. However, he was sharply criticized for failing to play an effective role and give time to the CAN.
