According to reliable sources at CAN, the 24 members picked from among 45 players who were called for the first phase of the training.The 24-member squad includes all 14 regular and four reserved players from the team that participated in the ACC U-19 Premier League held in Kuwait last year as part of qualification for the ICC U-19 World Cup to be held next year in Bangladesh.
Similarly, six players are new faces in the second phase.
Last year's regulars who have been selected again are Raju Rijal, Aarif Sheikh, Irshad Ahmed, Ashish Dhami, Shankar Rana, Prem Tamang, Saurabh Khanal, Sandeep Sunar, Yogendra Karki, Sushil Kandel, Sunil Dhamala, Deepesh Shrestha, Dipendra Airee and Arjun Chapagain. Likewise, Niraj Mukhiya, Heman Rai, Kushal Bhurtel and Rajbir Singh, who were reserved players, are also among the 24 members of the squad.
The same squad had finished as runner-up in Kuwait, earning a chance to play the ICC U-19 Qualifiers expected to be held in November/December. Afghanistan qualified for the U-19 World Cup winning the tournament.
Lalit Narayan, Kamal Airee, Avinash Karna, Adil Khan, Dilip Nath and Himanshu Dutta are the new faces for the second phase closed camp training for the Malaysia's event.
Host Malaysia, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Nepal will take part in the tournament.
Nepal secures place in semi-finals of ACC U19 Premier Cup
