The preliminary squad includes pacer Chandra Saud and Rahul Vishwakarma, who were left out of the final squad for the ACC Elite Trophy held in the UAE in October 2012 because of injuries.[break]
U-19 batsman Sagar Pun and bowler Ram Naresh Giri secured their places in the preliminary squad, as did another U-19 player Jitendra Kumar Mukhiya.
Coach Pubudu Dassanayake did not include captain Binod Das, who is yet to recover fully from injuries, in the squad whereas another pacer Manjeet Shrestha has made the cut.
Bhuwan Karki, who is undergoing the recruitment process of Armed Police Force, has also been left out of the team. Karki was a part of the national squad during the ACC Trophy Elite.
Captain Paras Khadka, Subash Khakurel, Gyanendra Malla, Prithu Baskota, Pradeep Airee, Binod Bhandari, Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Gauchan and Anil Kumar Mandal have all retained their places in the squad.
The preliminary squad, along with coach Dassanayake, technical assistant Raman Shiwakoti and manager Basanta Raj Satyal, is to tour Delhi, India from Saturday. The Nepali national team is to play four 50-over matches and six T20 matches in India against local clubs and academies as part of its preparations for the ACC T20 Elite Cup and the ICC World Cricket League Division 3. The India tour will end on March 10.
Nepal will host the ACC T20 Cup in Kathmandu from March 26 to April 3. The Nepali team will then travel to Bermuda for the Division 3 tournament scheduled for April 28 to May 5.
