Call to give space to film industry

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: A new constitution should give due space to the film industry of the country, participants said during a function organised in Kathmandu on Saturday by Nepal Film Artist Association to award film artists.



Association Chairman Ramesh Budhathoki said that the film artists´ body being affiliated with International Federation of Actors has been successful to make its identity in the international level. [break]



At the programme, Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang urged film artists to pressure political parties and Constituent Assembly for timely drafting of a new constitution.



On the occasion, senior film artists Sukuntala Sharma and Shiva Shrestha were honoured with the awards of 2065 and 2066 respectively. Bijaya Ratna Tuladhar and Dabbu Chhetri were feted in journalism category and Rajiv Shrestha in cinematography.
