Govt likely to appoint new IGP

KATHMANDU, April 10: The meeting of the council of ministers is underway at the official residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Baluwatar.


According to a source, the meeting is likely to discuss the appointment of new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.

Along with IGP Prakash Aryal, all AIGs of Nepal Police and IGP Singha Bahadur Shrestha of Armed Police Force will step down from the post following the completion of 30-year service period from Wednesday.


DIGs Ramesh Kharel, Sarbendra Khanal and Pushkar Karki are in the race for the post.
