KATHMANDU, April 19: A cabinet meeting is currently underway at Prime Minister K P Oli's official residence in Baluwatar.
According to Prime Minister Oli's aides, the meeting will mainly dwell on taking necessary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The cabinet meeting is expected to endorse the decisions taken earlier by the COVID-19 Central Crisis Management Committee after thorough discussions.
The meeting is also likely to take up issues related to the demands put forth by Janata Samajbadi Party. The JSP has put forth its demands to withdraw criminal cases filed against its party cadres and form a Review Commission to bring amendments in the constitution to extend its support to the government.
This comes in the wake of the government preparing to prorogue the ongoing winter session of the federal parliament within the next few days.
