KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of the Council of Ministers for 2:30 PM on Thursday. The meeting of the Council of Ministers is being viewed with importance as the issue of the US assistance project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement in the ruling coalition is becoming complicated.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers is taking place at a time when the parties affiliated to the ruling coalition are questioning the future of the ruling coalition, which is in favor of and against the MCC project. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the president of the Nepali Congress, is in favor of getting the MCC project approved through parliament, while the CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPN (Unified Socialist) are against the idea.

Deuba has called a meeting of the Council of Ministers before the meeting of the ruling coalition. After the Cabinet meeting, the meeting of the top leaders of the five parties affiliated to the ruling coalition will be held in Baluwatar at 5 PM today.
