KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The Council of Ministers is likely to be expanded within a few days as the ruling coalition parties have finally reached an agreement.
A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition held on Tuesday finally agreed on the sharing of ministerial berths among themselves. The stretched disagreement regarding the division of ministries among the parties in the ruling coalition has delayed the expansion of the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Cabinet.
According to sources, it has been agreed to allot six ministerial berths to the Nepali Congress and five each to the CPN (Unified Socialist), CPN (Maoist Center) and Janata Samajbadi Party.
