KATHMANDU, September 2: Chairman of the newly-formed CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the expansion of the Cabinet is less likely before September 8.

Talking to journalists after assuming his office as the Parliamentary Party leader of the Unified Socialist party in Singha Durbar on Thursday morning, Chairman Nepal said none of the leaders of the ruling parties will even speak about the expansion of the Cabinet till September 8. "We will hold discussions on the expansion of the Cabinet at an appropriate time," said Nepal, adding that they have not even held discussions in detail on giving full shape to the Cabinet.

Nepal made the remarks while responding to a query of journalists if his meeting with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday morning was focused on giving full shape to the Cabinet. Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist) is one of the coalition partners of the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

Prime Minister Deuba has failed to give full shape to his Cabinet even as his government was formed on July 13. The main opposition party, CPN-UML and other party leaders have criticized Deuba for failing to expand the Cabinet even though nearly two months have already passed by.
