KATHMANDU, June 22: With the Supreme Court (SC) passing an interim order, invalidating the cabinet expansion made by caretaker Prime MInister KP Sharma Oli, 20 Cabinet members have lost their ministerial portfolios. The Oli-led Cabinet now has only five members.
A division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana passed the verdict to invalidate the cabinet expansion by PM Oli. Only four Cabinet colleagues of PM Oli --- Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Physical Infrastructure Minister Basant Nembang and Law Minister Lilanath Shrestha will remain with him.
