KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Flying kites around the Tribhuvan International Airport has been banned keeping in view aviation safety.
Action against such acts would be taken as per the existing laws, according to a notice issued on Wednesday by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the government body responsible for the regulation and oversight of aviation in Nepal. Flying kites around the airport would pose risks, it cited.

The CAAN requested all the concerned not to be involved in such activity citing aviation safety. It also warned of taking stern action as per the law against anyone involved in such activities. With the commencement of festivals including Dashain, people in general fly kites in different places of the country including in the vicinity of TIA.
