KATHMANDU, April 27: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has banned taking any kind of photos/videos without taking permission in the restricted area of the airport.
The CAAN has written to all Civil Aviation Offices last week asking them to implement this rule strictly. The CAAN’s aviation security order states, "The authority, aircraft operating organization, employees affiliated with other agencies working at the airport and the general public will be completely prohibited from taking any kind of pictures and videos in the restricted area of the airport without prior permission."
In recent times, taking pictures and videography in sensitive areas such as restricted areas of the airport, aircraft cockpits and other areas which are sensitive in terms of flight and air safety has increased. Those photos and videos are uploaded on social networks such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Messenger, Viber and WhatsApp.
