Solukhumbu, Jan 27: Federal Socialist Party Chairman Ashok Rai on Sunday underscored the need to go for the reinstatement of the dissolved Constituent Assembly.

Speaking at a Reporters Club Nepal program in the district, Rai said deciding on the new prime minister  from the party securing majority in fresh CA elections will be the best option available to end the existing crisis. [break]

Responding to a journalist´s query, the former CPN-UML vice-chairman said he is ready to take up the role of prime minister from his party as the major three parties have failed to give an outlet to the country.

“The largest parties have already been a failure. Our party is ready to lead the government, with I myself assuming the prime ministership to give the country a way out of the crisis,” Rai said.

He further added, “Should other parties disagree on the idea of new CA elections, our party will bring about a whirlwind of agitation until the CA is restored.” He, however, ruled out new elections by mid-May.

Rai also made it clear that the proposal, as floated by opposition parties, of making Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala the new prime minister is not acceptable to his party and said consensus should now be explored from an altogether new layer.

Likewise, he said the UML and NC have been branding his party as an ethnic outfit to erase its existence. Our party is formed actually to upkeep communal harmony, he added.
